Terms and Conditions.
1. What these terms and conditions are about
These terms and conditions apply to every bicycle you purchase from Remoof. You will receive them for review before the purchase. If any part of them is invalid, the rest will remain in effect.
2. What you are buying
All our bicycles are second-hand and refurbished. Therefore, expect signs of use, minor paint damage, and wear to parts such as tires, brake pads, chain, lights, and saddle. Where we have measured battery capacity, it will be stated. It is normal for a battery to degrade over time, and this is not considered a defect.
3. Purchase and payment
- You purchase the bicycle from us on-site, by appointment. You may inspect it and take a test ride first.
- Prices are in euros and include VAT. We operate under the margin scheme, so VAT is not separately stated on the invoice.
- You pay in advance via debit card, cash, or bank transfer. The bicycle is yours once the full amount has been paid.
- You will receive an invoice with the frame number, model, and date. Keep it safe – it is your proof of warranty.
- During handover, we take photos of the bicycle's condition. We will use these as comparison material for warranty claims. You can always request them.
- If you notice anything amiss during handover, report it immediately, and we will note it on the invoice.
4. No cooling-off period
You finalize the purchase with us on-site, after you have inspected and tested the bicycle. Therefore, there is no distance selling and no statutory 14-day cooling-off period. After payment, the purchase is final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds due to a change of mind.
Your legal right to a sound bicycle remains (see point 7).
5. Warranty
The warranty starts on the date on your invoice.
Refurbished original: 1 month.
Bulletproof: 3 months on the e-shifter and the battery, 1 month on the rest of the bicycle.
Premium 3 months on the entire bicycle
How it works:
- Email the defect to info@remoofamsterdam.nl with your invoice number, frame number, a brief explanation, and photos or video. We will respond within 7 business days and schedule an appointment.
- If it is covered by the warranty, we will repair or replace the part free of charge. We will determine which of the two, and whether we use new or refurbished parts.
- We have a maximum of 6 weeks from the date of submission to return the bicycle without the defect. If we cannot do so, we will work together to find a solution.
- You will receive 3 months new warranty on the repaired or replaced part, starting from the day you get the bicycle back. The rest of the bicycle retains its original warranty period.
- You are responsible for dropping off and picking up the bicycle yourself. We do not have loaner bikes.
- If the defect is not covered by the warranty, we will charge a €50 inspection fee and provide you with a repair quote beforehand.
6. What is NOT covered by the warranty
Damage from falls. If we observe damage from a fall, collision, tipping over, or an impact, the warranty on the entire bicycle becomes void. Such an impact can affect multiple parts simultaneously, and it is impossible to separate them afterward. We compare this with the photos from point 3.
Furthermore, the warranty does not apply to:
- theft, loss, or disappearance
- vandalism, fire, or water damage
- incorrect, careless, or excessively heavy use
- poor maintenance, prolonged outdoor storage, or allowing the battery to fully discharge
- normal wear and tear: tires, brake pads and discs, chain, sprockets, cables, lights, saddle, grips, paintwork
- battery capacity decreasing due to normal use
- repairs or modifications by yourself or another bicycle mechanic
- non-original parts, tuning, or software modifications
- damage that has worsened because you did not report the defect in time
- rental, shared mobility, or delivery work
- consequential damage, such as travel costs or lost income
7. Your legal rights
Apart from our warranty, as a consumer, you always have the right to a bicycle that meets your reasonable expectations (Article 7:17 of the Dutch Civil Code). If there was already a defect when you received it, we will repair or replace it free of charge – and if that is not possible, you are entitled to a discount or dissolution of the contract. This right cannot be waived and does not expire when our warranty period ends. However, it is taken into account that it is a second-hand bicycle of a certain age and price.
Report a defect within two months after you discover it.
Are you purchasing for business use? Then this point does not apply; only the warranty from point 5 applies to you.
8. Liability
Our liability never extends beyond what you paid for the bicycle. We are not liable for consequential damage. Insuring, securely locking, and riding safely are your responsibility. In case of intentional misconduct on our part, or personal injury, these limitations do not apply.
9. Complaints
Email your complaint to info@remoofamsterdam.nl. You will hear from us within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it together, you can turn to the Dutch courts. Dutch law applies to all agreements we make.
10. Privacy
We only use your data to process the purchase, track the warranty, and comply with the law.
11. Changes
We may amend these terms and conditions. For your purchase, the version that was valid at the time of purchase always applies.
